Unanticipated Adjustments

Unanticipated Adjustments

The weeks leading up to Christmas I had lists of things to get accomplished, presents to buy and wrap, and details to finalize.  As with most things, I found most of the presents I needed to get, I got some that I didn’t anticipate buying, and wrapping and details adjusted because of the slight change.  Funny enough, one of those things was a garlic peeler…have you seen these?  I know, they may be really popular and we just stumbled across them, but they are amazing.  Sarah had seen one on a cooking show and I randomly found one at a kitchen store.  It wasn’t on her list…or really even mine to find, but I ran across this unanticipated kitchen tool, got it for Sarah and she was surprised about this great gift!  Sometimes unanticipated things that require slight changes or adjustments end up being a surprising blessing.

All of us have experienced some change in plans and then needed to make adjustments.

Quick Travel Reminder

Quick Travel Reminder

Whenever we travel, inevitably someone in our house forgets something.

A travel pillow.

Headphones.

Deodorant.

Winter coat.

Kevin!

Just kidding, we haven’t left a kid home alone while we went galavanting in Europe…yet…

We know in the next several weeks people will be traveling.

Some people will be coming to town for Spring Break.

Some people will be leaving town for Spring Break

Some people will be staying off 30A because of Spring Break.

Whatever the next few weeks hold for you, I want to let you know about a few things.

Parking During A Holy Week

Parking During A Holy Week

Sometimes it seems like it is feast or famine.

It is all or nothing.

It is chaos or calm.

This is Holy Week. A week that is set apart, a week that is specifically set aside to reflect upon what happened 2000 years ago in Jerusalem. A week with high highs and low lows.

During a week that is so big, that is so full, that we see so much of what God has done and is doing, it is also a week where we have so many people in town.

It is a bit of a feast, a bit of chaos, a bit of everything.

A Wonderful, Beautiful Blessing of a Challenge…

A Wonderful, Beautiful Blessing of a Challenge…

When Sarah and I first moved to Texas, we had no kids and lived in a one bedroom, 800 sq ft apartment. We did not have great room for kids, but that wasn’t an issue, because we didn’t have any. Just 30 months later we had two kids under two. What wasn’t an issue before, now became a challenge.

The first Sunday Sarah and I were at The Chapel, our two boys were the only kids there. Just 30 months later we have a growing kids ministry. Currently the kids ministry is meeting in the woods, which is generally quite lovely, but it does not work year round. So we knew we had to figure out something else. What wasn’t an issue before, now is a challenge. A wonderful, beautiful blessing of a challenge.
