The Chapel’s Vision, Meaning & Strategy
Dear Friends of the Chapel at Seaside,
On Sunday, July 26, immediately following the Chapel’s worship service, the Chapel Board presented the results of their July 9–10 strategy planning session. Work for that session was based on an equal amount of congregational and Board feedback, providing us with experiential learnings to help craft our future vision. The PDF file linked below is a copy of the presentation we made to the congregants who attended Sunday’s session. Big thanks to Mike Roetzel for encouraging us to present this sooner rather than later!
The presentation was made inside the Chapel, a much cooler environment than our outdoor worship area. We are grateful that many of our congregants attended, sitting in a manner meeting our COVID-19 safety plan. We are grateful for their attendance, for listening, for offering commentary and asking questions. As you read through the strategic plan slides, please be aware that the three-year and ten-year aspirations reflect where we want to be at those points. We are pleased that there is already much momentum toward these goals that predates the strategy planning.
We would like to specifically call out a few things that the Board feels are important to our future. As we create the Advisory Board from our congregation members and seek to fill open mission team positions, please let one of the Chapel Board members know if you are interested in serving. The Advisory Board is critical to ensuring that we are well-connected to our congregation and that their voices serve not only to inform but also to drive action as we execute this strategic plan. Likewise, the relationships built with the nonprofits supported by the Chapel are equally critical roles. Let us know of your interest in serving as the Chapel liaison to passionate, hardworking, faithful nonprofit leaders—helping us to enable the mission goals in our vision—by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lastly, we appreciate your engagement and faithful commitment to Christ. We thank Gary and Jan for their years of service to the congregation and continually keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
Grace and Peace,
The Chapel Board of Directors
